Wildcat
Providing freedom for on-chain credit
Wildcat is an Ethereum protocol enabling borrowers and lenders to enter into crypto-credit arrangements. They required a visual identity, design language and product design. The term “wildcat banking” supposedly had its genesis in the 1830s in Michigan, where bankers were believed to have set up banks in areas so remote that wildcats roamed there. Others say the term originated with an early bank that issued currency bearing an image of a wildcat. This was the foundation in creating the new identity, a sheriff star was abstracted to subliminally resemble a wildcat, with robust typography to offset the logo with a reference to reward posters of the time. The art direction uses a mixture of psychedelic frontier landscapes which act as scene setting and illustrations created by Shizzy Aizawa that cleverly blend the Wildcat logo into an ever evolving set of social meme characters.
